Pepper Spray Laws

Pepper Spray is legal in all 50 states. However some states or cities have limitations on the strengths and sizes. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a pepper spray.   We urge you to consult your State Attorney or local police authorities if you have a question about legality of pepper spray in your jurisdiction.  The info below reflects the restrictions we are aware of at this time. However we do not accept responsibility of its accuracy and completeness.  Please note the information we provide does not constitute legal advice.

California. Maximum canister size is 2.5 oz.

New York.  New York residents can only purchase stun guns from local licensed firearm dealers and pharmacies.

Massachusetts.  You can purchase a pepper spray locally. However you need to obtain Firearms Identification Card first. Since pepper spray cannot be mailed to MA we do not sell pepper spray to Massachusettsans.

Michigan. There a limit on a canister size (35gr or 1.2 oz) and strength ( 2% oleoresin capsicum).

Wisconsin.  Max oleoresin capsicum concentration is 10%. The size should not exceed 2 oz. (weight range of oleoresin of capsicum and inert ingredients is 15-60 grams maximum). The pepper spray cannot be camouflaged and a safety feature preventing an accidental discharge must be present). Since labels of our pepper spray do not meet certain requirements we do not ship pepper spray to WI.
